5 Minute Online Timer

Yes, but you need to allow this site to save timers in your browser. At the bottom of any page, select Manage Privacy Preferences, select Preferences, turn on Functional, and then close the preferences window to save your choice.

After you reload the page, timers that were running, paused, or reset will reappear. Timers that already finished will not.

If you see Enable Sound after reloading, select it so your timers can play an alarm. If Functional is turned off, your timers are not saved and will disappear when the page reloads.

This timer runs in your browser, so playing its alarm depends on the tab, browser, device, and current audio output. A timer may reach zero without sound if the browser blocks audio or the page cannot run normally.

For the best chance of hearing your timer:

• Select Test Sound before relying on a timer. You can also select Preview Sound while creating one.
• After refreshing the page, select Enable Sound if the prompt appears.
• Keep the timer tab open and your device awake. Keeping the tab in the foreground offers the best chance of hearing the alarm on time.
• Turn up your device volume and turn off mute, silent mode, and do not disturb.
• Check where audio is playing. Headphones, Bluetooth speakers, or another connected device may receive the alarm sound.

Desktop browsers may slow down background tabs. Phones and tablets are more likely to pause a browser when the screen locks, the device sleeps, or another app is in use. For an important timer, use a native timer or another device as a backup.

If sound is unavailable, the timer still shows that it has finished when the browser is able to run the page again.

The timer will not ring if you close its tab. Turning off or locking the screen is different: the timer may continue on some devices, but the browser or operating system can pause the page.

Phones and tablets are especially likely to suspend the timer when the screen locks, you switch apps, or battery saving is active. The timer may finish late when you return, and its alarm sound may be delayed or may not play. Desktop browsers can also slow down background tabs.

For the most reliable result, keep this site open in the foreground and your device awake. Use a native timer or another device as a backup for anything important.
