Workout Timer Guide
- Choose how long each work and rest interval should last.
- Set the number of rounds and, if useful, a short preparation countdown.
- Decide whether the final work round should be followed by one last rest interval.
- Select Start Workout. The timer advances through preparation, work, and rest stages automatically.
During training, you can pause without losing your place or skip directly to the next scheduled stage. Stage text accompanies each color change so work and rest remain distinguishable without relying on color alone.
The displayed workout duration includes every work interval and each scheduled rest interval. Preparation is shown separately, so you can see the training time without the opening countdown.
For example, ten rounds of 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest take 9:40 when the last round has no final rest.
Use shorter alternating intervals such as 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest, longer one-minute rounds, or set rest to zero for consecutive work stages. Preparation and rest may both be omitted.
Need one countdown rather than repeating intervals? Use the online countdown timer.
Sound alerts provide short countdown and stage-change cues when browser audio is available. The optional wake lock can help keep a supported device awake, but browser suspension, muted output, power-saving settings, or a locked screen can still prevent timely sound. Keep this page open during training and test the cue before relying on it.
