Just Set Alarm is a free, browser-based online alarm clock that lets you set alarms and timers directly in your web browser -- no downloads required. Alarms stay synchronized across page reloads, making it easy to manage your schedule without resetting timers.
Alarms run directly in the browser, so the tab must remain open and your device's sound must be enabled for alarms to play. Use the "Test Sound" button to check the volume.
To set an alarm in Just Set Alarm, press the "Set An Alarm" button to begin. Follow the on-screen steps to choose the alarm time and settings, then press "Add Alarm" to create the alarm. A "Test Alarm" button is available during setup to verify how the alarm will sound before it is added.
Alarms in Just Set Alarm can be changed after they are created. Each active alarm appears in the alarms list and includes a pencil icon. Selecting the pencil icon opens the alarm details, allowing the time or settings to be updated. Changes take effect immediately once confirmed.
Alarms in Just Set Alarm can be canceled from the alarms list. Each active alarm includes an X icon. Selecting the X icon opens a confirmation prompt, and pressing "OK" cancels the alarm and removes it from the list.
Just Set Alarm requires the browser tab to remain open while an alarm is active. Closing the tab, browser, or app will stop alarms from triggering. Ensure your device does not enter sleep mode or power down. Ideally, keep the device's screen on and the tab in the foreground.
On desktop browsers, tabs may be moved to the background when they are not actively in use. While the tab remains open, backgrounded tabs can have their timers deprioritized or audio playback delayed by the browser or operating system. This behavior varies by browser and system configuration and can affect when alarms trigger or play sound. Because alarms run inside the browser, background tab handling is outside the control of the app. Keeping the alarm tab open and active helps ensure alarms run as expected.
On mobile devices, browsers aggressively manage background tabs to save battery and system resources. When an Just Set Alarm tab is moved to the background, the operating system may pause or slow down timers, or even suspend audio playback. This is a limitation of mobile browsers and operating systems. Native alarm apps can bypass these restrictions but browser-based alarms cannot. Just Set Alarm follows modern web standards and works as reliably as mobile browsers allow.
It is recommendated that you use a native app for mobile devices and be sure to set another alarm (or two) on another device for important alarms.
Just Set Alarm plays alarms at the same volume level as your device. The app does not override or increase your system volume.
To make sure you hear your alarm:
Set your device's system volume to an audible level.
Disable mute, silent mode, and do not disturb.
If you're using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, keep them powered on and connected. If Bluetooth disconnects, the alarm may play through your device's default speakers instead and it may play at a different volume than you expect.
Alarms in Just Set Alarm can be set in seconds. A time can be selected and an alarm started immediately, without account creation, software installation, or setup steps. The interface is designed for fast, repeat use, allowing alarms to be created or adjusted with minimal interaction.
Just Set Alarm can be used for many time-based activities beyond waking up. Common uses include workouts and interval training, cooking and baking timers, study sessions, meetings, breaks, reminders, and daily routines. Alarms are flexible and can be used throughout the day for both short and long durations.
Just Set Alarm is free to use in the browser. Core alarm functionality is available without payment, subscriptions, or account registration. Alarms can be set and run immediately, with no installation or commitment required.
